A Letter to The Inbox Project

To The Inbox Project,

When everything around us was gloom and doom, you came to us with a small pouch of relief. I was clueless about how you were going to manage the distance between Kolkata and Bhubaneswar virtually. All I knew was that a box of surprises was on its way!

The day I listened to your first cover, I was smitten enough. My excitement kept growing with every week for the regular and new faces all set to leave us enchanted. While my Fridays turned to FriYAYs, I forgot how a normal weekend felt like amidst this pandemic.

You haven’t created mere musical covers, but a reason for people to smile. So here’s a letter to thank you for making a space where talent can grow and happiness can be shared. Today, without your magical formula, the weekends are back to their dull old faces.

I miss sticking to my phone at 9 pm sharp every weekend, waiting for Adipto bhaiya to do wonders with his guitar and Sayan da to cast a spell with his melodies and expressions. ‘Do good things come to those who wait?’ When I think about this last question of yours now, I believe they do. And it is this hope that keeps me going through these boring weekends.

I will cling to this hope and wait for the next time I can see you. Just as the sun is out even after the longest winter nights, I know you will be back too, filling the people around you with peals of laughter and joy.

After all, it is an Inbox Project promise!

Love,

The Creepy Fan
